West Mid Showground
CaravannersRus welcomes West Mid Showground. Most associate show grounds to one off calendar events where the masses normally attend for large events. Not many realise that West Mid, is actually open all year round for caravanning and motorhomes and at a very reasonable price. As well as this, although showground facilities are generally quite basic, they do sit in huge spaces and are generally very well positioned for local towns.
West Mid is probably up there with the best of them and this is definitely one to consider for the future. This charitable showground allows all year round pitches at only £15 per night. The showground runs alongside the River Seven and a beautiful county walk along the river gets you to Shrewsbury town centre in 15 minutes.
If you enjoy country walks and fresh air, then you can continue your walk into The Quarry, a beautifully landscaped garden full of character and very peaceful. Alternatively, why not visit the stunning churches around the town and Shrewsbury Cathedral. If you are visiting with family, why not take advantage of a boat tour, kayaking experiences, pony trekking, bike hire and much more.
You are also spoilt for places to eat around town. There are lots of cheap and cheerful restaurants offering early bird menus, as well as many more offering a fine dining experience. They do get busy so we advise planning well in advance.
