This family ran business is sat in more than 120 acres of farmland at the foot of Bowland Fells in Dolphinholme, Lancashire. They have 7 fishing lakes, all year pitches, touring pitches, camping, Glamping and much more!
For those who love that rural feel, the setting of Wyreside lakes is beautiful. The River Wyre runs through the property alongside Fox’s wood so if you enjoy country walks, this is a great place to start.
Wyreside Lakes also has a fantastic tackle shop for those wanting to enjoy some fishing and a clubhouse/restaurant that is open seasonally. With its low-beamed ceilings and natural wood burning stoves you can enjoy cosy Winter nights here and the prices are very reasonable.
Wyreside is suitable for both families and couples of all ages and there is lots to do and see. With Blackpool not too far away, families could consider Blackpool Tower, Madam Tussauds, Blackpool Zoo and Sealife Blackpool. For a more cultural experience, why not head to Lancaster Castle, Astley Hall or Lowther Gardens. There is also an abundance of local walks and some great websites advising on favorable routes to suit your requirements. For example, visit Lancashire.com offer a route planner for walks under 5 miles around historical sites. You’re also not far from these towns, which are well worth a visit if you have time, Lancaster – 6 miles, Morecambe – 12 miles, Preston – 20 miles, Ulverston / Barrow – 40 -50 miles and Kendal – 29 miles.
A Caravan/Motorhome pitch with electric hook up at Wyreside Lakes will set you back between £18-£24 per night based on two adults (seasonal variations). Glamping Pods are priced at £20 per night based on two sharing and camping rates are between £16-£18 per night all year round with electric available. Fishing can be booked by the day at reception and kids rates are available upon request.
