Welcome to Cleat Hill Farm Certified Location

Our CL is basic but tranquil set in a quiet 1.5 acre site, which is an old paddock with plenty of space. The field is fairly level but has some humps which are the remains of old ridge and furrow. There is a small brook which runs through adjacent fields. It is surrounded by farm land which will have tractors working on them at certain times of the year. There is an unfenced irrigation reservoir adjacent which you may wander around or fish, although it is not commercially stocked. It is very peaceful and the reservoir attracts many species of bird and is often almost noisy with birdsong.

There is a good footpath to the side of the site, but this involves going over 2 stiles. If you prefer, the 3 mile long gated road has very little traffic and is very pleasant to walk or cycle down. It goes from Haunton to Wigginton.

Reasonably priced with no irritating add ons, offering a quiet get away, well behaved dogs are also welcome.

There are plenty of good pubs locally including the White Lion at Harlaston, the Green Man at Clifton Campville and the Colville Arms at Lullington. There is also an Indian restaurant and takeaway in No Mans Heath.

Some of the electric points have their own tap, and there is also an elsun point.

The site is set in a beautiful area with attractive villages all around, and there is easy access to many national forest facilities.

The National Forest is one of the country's boldest environmental projects, transforming 200 square miles in the centre of England. It has been transformed through the planting of millions of trees and the creation of many other valuable habitats. It boasts many new attractions and forest-based activities.

The Local Area

Cleat Hill Farm CL is located 5 miles N.N.W of the historic market town of Tamworth. Market days are Tuesday and Saturday.

Tamworth, once capital of ancient Mercia, is renowned for its floral displays. Dominated by splendid Motte & Bailey 12th C castle, overlooking open parkland, play areas, floral terraces and river. There is plenty to do in Tamworth including Drayton Manor Park, the Snowdome and Strykers bowling. Kingsbury Water Park Nature Reserve and Twycross Zoo are also nearby.

We are also very close to the National Memorial Arboretum the UKs Centre of Remembrance, it's free and open every day. Planting began in 1997 and covers 150 acres there is something for everyone, it is a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the trees, and for some it is a beautiful and peaceful place to remember loved ones.

Calke Abbey, which is a National Trust property, is about half an hours drive away but makes a good day out, taking in lunch or shopping at Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Directions

From the M42 junction 11 take the exit off the roundabout signed for Seckington, in No Mans Heath turn Right Signposted for Clifton. Drive through Clifton Campville and the next village is Haunton take the first left into Syerscote Lane. The site is on the left after ¼ of a mile.

From the A38 turn left within 2 3/4 miles off A513 (Alrewas - Tamworth) onto road
